This edition is brought to you by our friends at beehiiv.
The beehiiv MCP is saving me 45 minutes every Monday morning.
Alex here with an update on how I’ve been using beehiiv lately.
If you’ve been a subscriber for more than a few months, you’ve seen me document moving this newsletter to beehiiv and try out a bunch of beehiiv’s features.
But my log ended before I tried out the beehiiv MCP, which, in the past two months, has completely overhauled my process for writing our Superpath Pro Monday emails.
Formatting the upcoming events, announcements, and action items and double checking the links was a huge pain every Monday morning.
But now it’s super easy. My Claude is synced to Airtable, which is the source of truth for events, programs, etc. And now Claude is synced to beehiiv too through the MCP.
It knows my template, so with the simplest prompt it will spin up the Pro email. The draft gets the email 80% to 90% of the way there. I just fill in my blurbs and it’s good to go.
If you think that’s an exaggeration, I’m writing this on a Monday and this is what my conversation in Claude looked like to spin up this morning’s email.

Hey folks, it's your content friend Eric here.
Preface: It’s important you know that I’m writing this on a train. All writing is instantly way cooler and wiser when done on a train, so please keep that in mind while reading this. Preface over.
I promise this newsletter won’t become Eric’s Adventures in Parenting, but so many people jokingly asked if I was going to write a “10 things my baby taught me about content marketing” LinkedIn post that it actually did spark a thought.
(Be careful what you wish for, reader.)
So far, the biggest similarity between being a new parent and being a content marketer is realizing that nothing can prepare you for the job other than doing the job.
I don’t mean that as a cliché like “nothing prepares you for the real thing”. I mean that no two babies are alike (let’s pretend twins don’t exist) just like no two content marketing roles are alike.
The majority of advice simply won’t apply to your situation. There are too many variables at play—your bandwidth, support system, budget, timing, luck. I could never have predicted all the weird things I’ve panic-Googled in the middle of the night. (It’s probably just gas, by the way.)
You could either see that unknowableness as completely overwhelming or completely freeing. I’m choosing to see it as the latter.
I read a Reddit thread this morning asking for people’s most regrettable baby purchases. All the most upvoted replies were the purchases I’m most grateful for so far. Their babies must be different than my baby.
I often get the same sensation scrolling through content advice on LinkedIn—seeing people categorically denounce content strategies that are working like gangbusters for me. Maybe their babies are just different than my baby.
The best parenting advice I’ve gotten so far (from a complete stranger, mind you) is that you can only play the hand you’re dealt. Everyone’s looking for the playbook, but there isn’t one. You’re the first person to raise your baby.
You can learn the best practices, watch the TikToks with questionable advice, take the course, but it’s not until you’re consoling your crying baby (or founder) at 3am that you’ll figure out what actually works for you.

💬 Great Slack Threads This Week
Here were some great discussions in the Superpath Slack community this week:
What are people's thoughts/experiences with newsletter content that highlights other people's interesting work ahead of yours? How does it perform over time? Do exec stakeholders kill the approach before it sees the light of day?
Hey folks, a question mostly for in-house content and marketing leaders: how have your OKRs, goals, or the things you report on for SEO/AEO changed since AI search became an everyday thing?
Folks who own flat file / markdown-based websites: what’s your setup? Did you use a CMS or a static site generator? How did you design / customise the front end? Are you using specialised hosting or a standard shared plan?'

"Most professional groups boast about their member numbers. Superpath intrigued me for the opposite reason: they deliberately shifted from a massive free community to a much smaller, paid one - so they could focus on it, nurture it, and make it genuinely excellent. And they absolutely deliver."
